  • The moment we've all been waiting for is on the horizon. We couldn't be more thrilled, and we think you'll be pretty excited too.

Starting on Sept. 29 – the day after the Ryder Cup wraps up in Scotland – Back9Network will officially launch nationwide on DIRECTV. That's 14 weeks from today, or 98 days, but who's counting? Set aside one of your favorites for channel 262. You won't regret it.

Don't have DIRECTV? You might want to start working on it.

The multi-year deal marks the first television carriage agreement for Back9, which will air nearly 1,100 hours of original programming in the first year. There will be 10 original primetime series, including "The Ahmad Rashad Show," "Ball Hogs," and "Golf Treasures." There will be live shows every morning, midday and evening. And there will be a variety of other golf lifestyle programming covering travel, real estate, food, fashion, courses and equipment.

"We are thrilled that DIRECTV will be Back9Network's first television launch partner," said Jamie Bosworth, Founder, Back9Network. "This long-term agreement provides us with a strong initial television distribution base and sends a clear message to the marketplace of our goal of becoming a fully-distributed lifestyle network."

"We look forward to broadcasting from our state-of-the-art studios in Downtown Hartford, developing studio shows and primetime programming that resonate with the 25 million active golfers in the U.S. and tens of millions more who live the golf lifestyle and enjoy what golf has to offer outside the ropes and in the clubhouse," said Carlos Silva, President, Back9Network.

Hosted by Back9's Emmy-award winning host/executive producer, the 30-minute "Ahmad Rashad Show," is a golf lifestyle show about living the Back9 and all that it entails. Rashad will take viewers behind the scenes and away from the glare of the spotlight as he hangs out with the biggest names in sports and entertainment.

"Ball Hogs" takes you into the never-before-seen world of diving for "white gold." Men and women risk their lives in the ponds and lakes on golf courses to retrieve lost balls. Curious? Check out this sneak peek.

And "Golf Treasures" features the owners of Green Jacket Auctions, Ryan Carey and Bob Zafian. The prominent golf memorabilia collectors travel the globe hunting down the world's rarest and most sought-after golf paraphernalia.

More details on shows and lineups will emerge as we get closer to launch, but for now, let your local cable operator know you want Back9, sign up for the Back9 Newsletter,  and set your countdown clock for Sept. 29. We have. The day will be here before you know it.
