Trump National Doral
Among the many amenities that came from the $250 million spent by Donald Trump at his Trump National Doral Resort are eight deluxe guestroom villas, each one named for one of the most influential golfers in the world: Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Sam Snead and Tiger Woods.
With the PGA Tour in town this week, Rory McIlroy was relegated to the Tiger Woods Villa, joking that he couldn’t get away from Tiger.
There’s no word on who is staying in the other villas, but we have some insight into the Gary Player Villa, which was the first to be completed at the end of January. About the only things that differentiate one villa from another are the pictures hanging on the walls aimed at capturing the namesake golf legends at iconic moments in their illustrious careers.
Designed by Ivanka Trump and world-renowned architects WATG, the new deluxe guestroom villas are immaculate. A chic palette of elegant neutrals – including ivory, champagne and caramel – are accentuated with mahogany wood and gold leaf details. The spacious bathrooms more closely resemble in-room spas with frameless showers, rainfall showerheads, marble flooring, and imported stone countertops and vanities.
Each villa offers golf course or garden views with expansive balconies or terraces.
“Our vision for Doral from the onset has been to create an ultra-luxurious golf resort in the heart of Miami and the Gary Player Villa is a reflection of this,” said Ivanka, Executive Vice President of Development and Acquisitions at The Trump Organization. “The elegant design, luxurious and spacious rooms and suites, and attention to every last detail are a few of the defining characteristics that will make Trump National Doral an unparalleled experience for our guests.”
“Doral is one of the most important golf properties in history and it is incredible to see the changes that the Trump Family has delivered in such a short period of time,” Player said. “The new villas look magnificent and I am truly honored to have the very first bear my name.”
“I have been a longtime fan of Gary and am thrilled to honor him with our first villa dedication and celebrate his legendary career,” Donald Trump said.
