England's Lee Westwood has made plenty of money in his career: more than $16 million on the PGA Tour and more than $40 million on the European Tour. Millions more have come in the form of endorsements along the way.

But if a hefty bonus is what gets the 40-year-old over the hump and into the winner's circle at a major for the first time in his career, then it's a shame his sponsors didn't come up with this incentive years ago.

According to Golf.com, Westwood stands to make 2 million British pounds, or 3.3 million U.S. dollars, should he win the Masters this week. The offer comes from Dunlop, Westwood's apparel provider. If it were to happen, he'd collect a total of $4.7 million for four days of work – the Dunlop bonus plus the $1.44 million check that comes with winning the tournament.

"We wish Lee every success at Augusta," David Newbury, Dunlop's head of marketing, told Golf.com. "He's been one of the world's leading players for many years and we'd be delighted if the Masters finally brings him the major victory his career deserves — even if it does mean signing a very large check."

Should Westwood not capture the green jacket this week, the offer actually stands for any major that he may win. Dunlop might appear safe because Westwood has been on the "best yet to win a major" list for years. But over those years, he's amassed eight top-3 finishes at majors, the most of any golfer without a win since 1934. His latest close call was last year's Open Championship.

With those dollar figures dancing in his head, Westwood shot a 1-over-par 73 on Thursday, five shots off the lead. He improved on Friday with a 1-under 71 to move to even-par overall, but he's seven shots back of leader Bubba Watson entering the weekend.
