Bubba Gets Beat by Duck Dynasty Crew and His Caddie at Putt-putt

When it comes to golf, there aren't too many amateurs who can say they've beaten Bubba Watson. However, his caddie, Ted Scott, and "Duck Dynasty" star Justin Martin are two of those people … kind of.

On Wednesday, Martin took to Twitter to inform the world that he and Scott defeated Bubba Watson and Martin's "Dynasty" co-star, Jase Robertson … at putt-putt.

At this news, Watson's friend Rickie Fowler, felt obligated to chime in:

To make matters worse for Watson and Robertson, the beat down was also of the come-from-behind variety:

Luckily, Robertson had an excuse for why Watson, who has apparently "Mastered" the glass-like greens at Augusta, struggled on the carpeted greens of the putt-putt course:

    Psh, obviously ...

It may not be real golf, but hey, Martin and Scott will forever be able to say they beat a two-time Masters champion at his own game. And the next time Watson disagrees with a read, all Ted Scott needs say is, "oh, hey… remember that time I beat you? Good. It's a cup on the right. Hit the putt."

Rory McIlroy Heads Home to Prepare for The Open Championship

In just 10 days, the Open Championship week will kick off across the pond at Royal Liverpool. On Tuesday, one of the favorites for the event, Rory McIlroy, was back home in Ireland preparing for the unique challenge that is links-style golf.

McIlroy, the 2011 U.S. Open and 2012 PGA Champion has already won once this year and will be looking to add a claret jug to his collection in just under two weeks. McIlroy tweeted these pictures from a practice round at Royal County Down on Tuesday:

From his shocking high-profile split from tennis star Caroline Wozniacki to his gritty win at the BMW PGA Championship, McIlroy has had quite the up-and-down year, both on and off the course. Needless to say, he could use a big week at the Open Championship.

In six career appearances at the Open, McIlroy's best showing came in 2010 at St. Andrews. He finished T-3, eight shots behind winner Louis Oosthuizen.

Inaugural Masters Participant Errie Ball Passes Away at 103

Errie Ball, the final surviving participant from the inaugural Masters Tournament in 1934, passed away Wednesday. He was 103.

Samuel Henry "Errie" Ball spent his entire life in the game of golf, playing and teaching professionally for 83 years -- a PGA membership record. Over the course of his career, Ball appeared in 25 major championships, including the U.S. Open 10 times and the Masters twice.

“The PGA of America is saddened by the passing of Errie Ball, a professional in all aspects of life,” said PGA of America President Ted Bishop. “Errie’s amazing career spans the legends of the game – from Harry Vardon through Tiger Woods."

While Ball enjoyed success playing the game, he spent most of his life teaching it.

"His longevity, according to those who knew him best, was founded upon a love of people," Bishop said. "Each day, like each step he took on the course, was spent with purpose. We will miss him dearly, but his legacy continues to shine through the many PGA Professionals he inspired to grow our game.”

Ball was inducted into the PGA Golf Professional Hall of Fame in 2011. He is survived by his wife, Maxie, his daughter, Leslie, brothers Tom and John, two granddaughters and a great grandson.

Hunter Mahan Went Undercover and Unnoticed at Under Armour

    hunter-mahan_anchor

Hunter Mahan is a fairly big name on the PGA Tour. He has five career victories and he's finished in second place seven times. With his name being at the top of the leader board that much you'd think fans would begin to recognize him.

Clearly that's not the case. And it's been proven. Read More

Adam Levine to Open 'Weed and Golf' Store?

    adam-levine_anchor

Adam Levine has had plenty of success as the lead singer of Maroon 5, but he's apparently not done making money. This time, though, it'll be with golf.

In an article for GQ's July issue, one of Levine's interesting conversations with his assistant Shawn was featured. In it, the two brainstormed ideas for a new store to open in a strip mall and they came up with something that has definitely never been done before. Read More

    Out Of Bounds

Now that the United States Men's National Team has been eliminated from the World Cup, the majority of Americans can now go back to pretending that soccer doesn't exist and that "football" is something that happens on a gridiron. Most Americans were, rightfully so, very excited about about team U.S.A's chances this year, despite not following soccer very closely … or, you know, at all.

Lucky for us, Jimmy Kimmel and his crew set out to expose these "true fans" in another edition of "Lie Witness News":
