Welcome to The Fringe, Back9Network's daily feature created to keep you up to date on the best stories happening in golf, social media and pop culture.

Chesson Hadley Finds His Dad

Dad?

Since Jimmy Fallon aired his PGA Tour "Superlatives" segment early in the week, some of the jokes have taken on a life of their own -- especially the one about Chesson Hadley's dad actually being one of those giant windsocks you see at newly opened fast food restaurants, car dealerships and gas stations.

The lanky PGA Tour rookie has had his share of fun playing along, posting this tweet on Thursday that basically won Twitter for the day:

With Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy set to appear on "the Tonight Show" next week, golf fans will be glued to their televisions waiting to see what Fallon will do next.

President Obama Really Wants to Play Better, Uses GAME GOLF

Unless you live under a rock, you're well aware that the President has been spending much of his time the last two weeks on the links of Martha's Vineyard. The POTUS has played Farmneck Golf Club and Vineyard Golf Club (my old stomping grounds) during his annual two-week vacation to the resort island just off the coast of Massachusetts.

While President Obama's swing is nothing to marvel at, you have to admire his desire to get better. During the trip, Obama was seen using GAME GOLF, a digital tracking system designed to improve games by pinpointing strengths and weaknesses.

GAME GOLF works through a series of sensors. The ones on the top of the club must be tapped against a belt-mounted unit before and after a shot. The system then records length, location and accuracy of the shot.

You'd have to imagine 44 is getting pretty good. After all, it's a game of repetition -- and Obama has certainly been playing a lot.

Make a Hole-in-One, Win a Golf Cart

Well, you can add Estanislao Goya's name to the list of guys who've made an ace and won a ridiculously awesome prize for it. Goya aced the 153-yard, par-3 10th hole during the European Tour's Made in Denmark Championship on Friday, netting himself a luxury Garia golf cart.

"At the golf course I practice at, they have a couple," Goya said of his prize. "They're really nice and quick which is perfect."

Unfortunately for Goya, he'll be headed home after today's round. At 4-over, he missed the cut by a stroke.

This is isn't the first time a relative unknown won something awesome by making an ace in action on the European Tour. James Heath won a 2015 BMW i8 for his effort in June.
