Rory McIlroy Purchases $2 Million Palm Beach Condo
It seems like Rory McIlroy has been doing nothing but winning and swapping property the last couple months. In the last few months, McIlroy has had an old home become a wedding venue, purchased some type of living space and put one up for rent. Last week, McIlroy missed out on the trophy at The Barclays — but he did pick up a brand-new condo in Palm Beach, Fla.

According to gossipextra.com, McIlroy dropped $2 million — in cash — for a plush new condo on Singer Island. According to the story, that’s just a small part of the $13.75 million the four-time major champion has spent in Palm Beach in the last two years.
This 3,100 square-foot, three-bedroom condo is the 10th floor penthouse at Ocean’s Edge. As you might imagine, the space itself is incredible and the views are breathtaking:
There you have it — another day with more proof that it’s damn good to be Rory McIlroy these days. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it’s Rory’s world, we’re just living in it.

Jason Dufner Done for the Year
Jason Dufner withdrew from the Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday, effectively ending the 2014 campaign for the 2013 PGA Champion.
Dufner, who has been battling bulging discs in his neck for some time, last played competitively at the PGA Championship at Valhalla. He withdrew after completing just nine holes and told reporters afterwards that he refuses “to be out here and not be healthy and not give myself a chance to be competitive,” and that he would return when he was doing better. We know now that will be in 2015.
After missing The Barclays last week, Dufner slipped to 74th in FedExCup points. With his withdrawal from — and the fact that only the top 70 in points advances following — the Deutsche Bank Championship, Dufner will officially be eliminated from the playoffs on Labor Day and thus won’t appear on tour again until the 2014-15 PGA Tour season.
After the PGA Championship withdrawal, Dufner said it would take him “six to eight weeks” until he’s healthy. That timetable would have Dufner out until at least the Ryder Cup.

Graeme & Kristin McDowell Welcome Daughter, Will Miss Deutsche Bank
Last week, we saw a very uncertain Graeme McDowell trying to figure out what diapers he needed to buy when his daughter arrived. We can only hope G-Mac figured it out.
As of Monday morning, McDowell and his wife, Kristin, are officially parents. After the successful delivery of their daughter, McDowell hit Twitter to say thank you to all those wishing he and his wife well and to post the first picture of their yet-to-be named daughter:

In a move that was very expected, McDowell has also withdrawn from this week’s Deutsche Bank Championship to be with his wife and baby girl. McDowell is currently 40th in FedExCup points and is in position to claim a spot on the European Ryder Cup team. All of that, however, is just pie now that he’s a father.
“My caddie has been telling me all year ‘You’re not going to want to go to Boston’,” McDowell said following his round on Sunday. “I’ve decided to give myself the weekend off and just be with the family. Nice to be able to plan it that way.”

Out Of Bounds
Before you watch this video, I have to warn you: if you’re afraid of heights, you need to look away now.
These kids in Hong Kong decided to climb to the top of the city’s fifth tallest building to eat bananas. That’s right — they scaled a skyscraper just so they could hang out on the tippy-top of it and take a selfie while eating a banana. Seriously, watch these guys. They’re insane:
(p.s. I wanted to make this video the Out Of Bounds selection today but the language contained in it was a tad too salty. I do encourage those mature enough to handle said language to watch on your own time, however.)
