Phil Mickelson Reminds Us Why He is the Flop Shot King
Ho, hum … just another absolutely ridiculous Phil Mickelson flop shot, up and down to save par when no mere mortal could ever dream of doing so. Seriously, whether you love him or hate him, watching Lefty work his magic around the greens never gets old, does it? This is absolutely absurd:
There are other players on tour who could probably pull this shot off but I’m not sure there are more than one or two with the nerve to even try it. And that’s why Phil is who he is and that’s why we love him. Ever willing to take on the impossible shot, fully accepting of the consequences of not pulling it off. Perhaps, with him making shots like this, 2014 will be the year he gets the U.S. Open monkey off his back?

Arnold Palmer Surprises One Lucky Graduate with Surprise of a Lifetime
The day you graduate and enter adulthood is a scary one. Sure, it’s exciting too, but mostly it’s terrifying. What every one of us needs or needed on that day was some sound advice from those who have been there before. We’ve all had our family, friends, siblings and coaches offer up advice, but not too many have enjoyed the sage advice that only Arnold Palmer can dole out. Nate Marcoulier, however, is one of those fortunate souls:

How freakin’ cool is that? Adam is going to have the best Christmas/birthday he’s ever had after pulling this off. And for Arnold Palmer, this is just another reason to love the King.
And with that, my faith in humanity has been restored … for now.
Pinehurst Opens up Retail Pavilion Early
The U.S. Open at Pinehurst is right around the corner for both the men and women, and while most of us won’t be able to get into the event, many can still head over to Pinehurst Resort and buy merchandise thanks to the club opening the retail pavilion nearly a week early.
The pavilion has more than 500,000 items emblazoned with the either the men’s, women’s or both U.S. Open logos. Since the events are being held on back-to-back weeks at the same venue, much of the merchandise commemorates the occasion by including both logos on the same item.
“When the doors open, customers will find 277 different styles among the 106,000 caps, which are the single largest-selling item. There are also more than 200 styles among the 55,000 shirts in stock,” according to a report on The Pilot.
The sale for non-ticket holders will run until Sunday at 6 p.m.

Public Mini Golf: No Money, No Problems
Golf can be an expensive sport. From clubs to greens fees, it doesn’t always come cheap. It’s not every day that you’re given the opportunity to play a round for free, so sometimes you have to make your own luck.
For one group of guys, $12 for a round of mini golf was far too much. So, they took action and made their own golf course… sort of. Warning: there is some foul language, but the video is absolutely hilarious. Read More
Warning: Golf Carts Could Be Hazardous To Your Health
Golf carts aren’t meant to be crashed. Well, neither are cars, but getting into a golf cart crash will be really bad for all parties involved.
Most golf carts have governors (thankfully) on them, limiting the speed of the cart, which helps prevent crashes on the course. Allowing a golf cart to drive down a hill at 25 mph would not be a good idea. Read More
Out Of Bounds
At Back9Network, we sure do love our trick shots. Be it golf, basketball, ping pong balls — whatever. We just like to see people doing the incredible. Speaking of that, here’s a video that will absolutely blow your mind whether you like soccer or not:
This isn’t the first time that a spot like this has aired; most people remember and are deeply fond of the Kyrie Irving “Uncle Drew” commercial for Pepsi. That being said, any time these pop up they’re fun to watch. Sure, they’re probably scripted and everyone there is likely in on it, but that doesn’t mean they’re not fun to watch.
