Welcome to The Fringe, Back9Network's newest daily feature created to keep you up-to-date on the best stories happening in golf, social media and pop culture.

    Man Cave Mania

There's a man cave and then there's a MAN CAVE. I was fortunate enough to have my own a few years ago where I spent the majority of winter hibernating, playing Call of Duty and ping-pong. But I was missing one thing: a golf simulator. When I saw that Kevin Streelman had one of his own in his Arizona pad, it became a dream all over again. I guess that's what you get for cashing in a mere million dollars at the 2013 Tampa Bay Championship though, right?

If you enjoy hibernating in your man cave as well, or you are now going to try and persuade your wife to build one, here are a few other awesome ideas to make sure you're building the ultimate hang out spot. I mean, you have to go all out, right?

    Poppin' Bottles

We've seen some interesting videos from the driving range as of late, such as Miguel Angel Jimenez's stretching routine (which is just shy of twerking), Sydney Leroux's Happy Gilmore swing fail, and now Ryo Ishikawa's latest practice aide. The Japan native was filmed using a soft drink bottle to tee it up on the drive range ahead of this week's Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla.

If anyone wants to try this at their local driving range, please film the reactions of those surrounding you and send them over... that is if you don't get kicked out for horsing around.

    Gentlemen, Start Your Engines

Prior to last week's WGC-Cadillac Championship, a few PGA Tour players took part in the Cadillac V-Series Challenge for Charity. Graham DeLaet was among the lucky group to visit the nearby Homestead Speedway, and it was noted that he was one of the guys to hit 150 mph. Now, thanks to the PGA Tour, we are able to watch some of the action that took place.

Tiger Woods' Intimidation Factor: Real or Imagined?
Hank Haney served as Tiger Woods' swing coach for six years. He was along for the ride as his player won every major championship in golf, and saw him compete as the most dominant athlete in the history of the sport. Yet, Haney believes other golfers were never intimidated by Woods.

When asked if Woods still carries the same aura about him, Haney told, "I didn't buy into that when people talked about it as much as people talked about it. Tiger won because he shot the lowest score, not because he intimidated his opponents." Read More

Golf World Reacts to NFL Free Agency Frenzy
NFL free agency marks the start of the new NFL year, creating buzz around the world with big names on the move to new teams. The Denver Broncos have been big spenders this offseason, writing checks for DE DeMarcus Ware, CB Aqib Talib and S T.J. Ward.

With all this free agency madness taking place, some members of the golf world decided to weigh in on what’s been happening. Keegan Bradley, a known Boston sports fan, didn’t seem too happy about Talib leaving his New England Patriots for the Broncos. Read More

    Out of Bounds

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back, and no I'm not talking about his ping-pong, short-shorts-wearing self in the Super Bowl Bud Light commercial. He's inviting you to ride shotgun with him in a tank and literally just crush stuff to benefit charity.
